Friends Club Finish as Runners-Up in Sheesha – Unity Futsal Challenge 2026

Friends Club concluded their impressive campaign in the Sheesha – Unity Futsal Challenge 2026 as runners-up, following a hard-fought journey to the final at the Addu Stadium Futsal Pitch. Their efforts were rewarded with a runner-up prize of MVR 20,000, marking a commendable achievement in this year’s competition.

Throughout the tournament, Friends Club demonstrated consistency, discipline, and attacking quality, establishing themselves as one of the strongest teams in the competition. Their group stage performances were marked by commanding victories and crucial results, including a dominant win over Addu City Police Team and a key triumph against FC Xephier.

In the knockout stage, Friends Club delivered a composed and professional performance in the semifinal, securing a 2-0 victory over Hithadhoo Port LTD. Montazemi Mohsen Ali played a decisive role, scoring both goals to guide his team into the final.

Heading into the final, Friends Club faced a formidable Mylo City Sports Club side. Despite showing determination and fighting spirit, Friends Club were unable to contain the attacking strength of their opponents and fell short in the title decider.

Several players stood out for Friends Club during the tournament, with Montazemi Mohsen Ali and Moosa Waheed playing key roles in midfield, contributing both in attack and overall team organization.

 

Finishing as runners-up reflects a strong and commendable campaign for Friends Club, who consistently performed at a high level and proved to be one of the most competitive teams in the Sheesha – Unity Futsal Challenge 2026.
