The much-anticipated second edition of the Unity Futsal Challenge has been officially scheduled for March 2026, marking the return of one of Addu City’s fastest-growing community futsal tournaments. The event will be held under the official title Sheesha – Unity Futsal Challenge 2026, with Sheesha Pvt Ltd confirmed as the Title Sponsor for the tournament.

Building on the momentum and strong public engagement generated by its inaugural edition in 2025, the 2026 tournament will adopt a more competitive and community-focused structure. Participation will be limited to 10 teams, ensuring a high-quality and well-managed competition throughout the tournament period.

Each team will be required to register a minimum of 10 players and may include up to a maximum of 12 players in their official squad list. In a significant change from the first edition, the tournament will now allow only three non-Adduan players per team. For the purpose of eligibility, players will be considered Adduans strictly based on official registration within Addu City, reinforcing the tournament’s objective of prioritising and promoting local talent.

The tournament is scheduled to commence on 1 March 2026, with matches planned throughout the month in a festive and highly competitive atmosphere. The final match will be played on the night before Eid al-Fitr, adding further excitement and significance to the closing stage of the competition.

Organisers have indicated that further details regarding fixtures, venues, registration timelines, and match regulations will be announced in the coming weeks. With strong sponsorship backing, refined competition rules, and a clear focus on local player development, the Sheesha – Unity Futsal Challenge 2026 is expected to be one of the highlight sporting events in Addu City’s 2026 calendar.
